About Little Lord Me-ingtons
Here is what I wrote.
I am from mars,
I'm twelvety feet tall and 5 miles wide.
I weigh 2 stone 10 and have four ten toes.
It takes me five eleven minutes to get dressed in a morning
and costs tup tup pence to get on the bus in my home town.
My name is not important, just that to be alive is a wonderful thing.
smile and the world wont smile with you, its a planet, not a person.
But other people might just smile back at you.
and if they dont then sod them really
but thats not important right now.
This site came about from wanting to actually understand what I did the first time I tried to make a site.
I spent a year on a work placement from University at a web design agency in Sheffield, where I first learned about Web Standards.
It's kind of evolved since then, I try occasionally to add new things and stuff and gadgetry to the arseend of the site to make me feel better about how it runs and the hard work that went into it. I'm sure that means nothing to most people but i'm too proud to put something that look slike it was build it the 90's and rebuild again in the 90's style in the new century. Oh the pain, the pain!
For all techy people who care; this site:
- has valid XHTML 1.0 Strict throughout (ok, well i'm working on that, some of the pages are still out of date but at least the main ones are already done. Who knows, by the time you read this, I might have done them all!
- has valid CSS layouts - disable the styles and see
- should work in any browser on any device. Be in handheld or otherwise. Except maybe the stylesheet switcher. But sshh, that's just extra eye candy
- Tested and works in Firefox 2, Opera 9, Internet Explorer 7, Internet Explorer 6 (I had to build workarounds for those two, the awkward sods!) and works nicely without styles too, so will work in text only browsers such as Lynx
- Best viewed at 1024 x 768 or higher at 32 bit colour through the eyes. All styles except for "grunge" will work at 800 x 600 or higher without horizontal scrolly-ness
- is handwritten. Yes all of it. Except for the stylesheet switcher which i stole, and removed the JavaScript. It was necessary to do it to make some stuff work right in the arseend. No, not up my bum. On the templating side of things
- is tested in Firefox firstly and foremostly. This is my browser of choice, and since I built this site for myself, the only reason I tested on others and made fixes for Internet Exploder is because I like to be able to say "hey, get me. I'm the pimp daddy" and so forth
- eats baked beans. its spurts out a lot of shit. good for the heart at least.
